Grand Rapids, Michigan – October 15, 2007 - - The Grand Rapids Marine Aquarium Society (GRMAS), a West Michigan based non-profit club dedicated to assisting and educating others in the marine aquarium hobby, announced its plans for the upcoming 2nd Annual West Michigan Saltwater Swap.

The Swap will be held on Saturday April 12th, at the Howard Miller Community Building (which houses the Zeeland Public Library) 14 South Church St in Zeeland. The focus of this event is to allow hobbyists to sell, buy or trade live corals, saltwater fish and dry goods. Last year’s event drew over 300 participants and vendors from across the state. The swap will run from 12 AM to 3PM, admission is $5.00 and the public is welcome.

“We had a fantastic response from the public at last year’s event, and the 2008 Saltwater Swap is shaping up to be even bigger”, stated current President Scott Yonkers. “This event allows us to increase public awareness of the marine aquarium hobby, the Grand Rapids Marine Aquarium Society and the world’s oceans,” he added.

Lunch will be available for purchase at the Swap. There will be a several vendors onsite and a raffle sponsored by a variety of local and national companies. More information can be found at www.GRMAS.org.

GRMAS also renewed its invitation today for any and all interested parties to visit a general membership meeting on February 5th at 7:00. The meeting will be held in the Community Room, located inside the Family Fare grocery store at 6797 Cascade Rd SE.

General meetings are held on the first Monday of each month, and begin with a general discussion topic on the marine aquarium hobby. The latter half of the meeting consists of an auction where live marine fish, live coral and aquarium equipment is sold.
